At the beginning of the insecurity across Nigeria, it seems the poor masses who couldn' t afford the cost of getting personal securities will be the only affected citizens, but the recent activities of criminals in the country have affected even the top political class.
Many prominent politicians have become victims of the rampant insecurity across the country with the recent one involving President Muhammadu Buhari during his visit to Borno State which has been described as the stronghold of the Islamic State of West Africa Province (ISWAP), a terrorist group.
They fired rockets launchers which were allegedly targeted at the President, unfortunately for the criminals, they were only able to attack some communities that surrounded the Maiduguri airport an hour before President Muhammadu Buhari got there.
However, The Nation reported that Mr. President on getting to Aso Villa in Abuja ordered that the Service Chiefs shouldn' t give the terrorists any space and that no inch of this country must be occupied by terrorists.
A military source who spoke on condition of anonymity to newsmen said President Buhari gave the order during a Security Council meeting in Abuna.
The source said, " the President asked the Service Chiefs not to give terrorists, especially the Islamic State of West Africa Province (ISWAP), a breathing space. He directed that no inch of Nigerian territory must be occupied by terrorists.
President Buhari reportedly revealed that his administration is determined to end the war against insurgency, stressed that the Service Chiefs must be proactive when dealing with the terrorists who have been terrorizing the Northern region for more than a decade.
